MUSIC & LIGHTING
SAFE & SOUND
Sound has a profound and powerful effect on our minds and bodies. Research shows that sound and music can slow down our brain waves and put our bodies in a very relaxed, dreamlike state. With that in mind, we provide noise cancelling headphones so you can listen to whatever soundtrack (or audiobook, or podcast) that you prefer.
In addition to personalized audio we can adjust the lighting to the room to your personalized preference. It’s just one more way that a Dragonfly scan is an experience unlike anywhere else.

PATIENT STORIES
FAQS
If you’ve ever been to a science museum, you’ve probably seen those cross-section displays of the human body; thin slices showing organs, bones, and tissue at different depths.
That’s essentially what an MRI does. But, instead of physically slicing anything, it uses magnetic fields to capture hundreds of these cross-sections while you lie still, watching your favorite movie.
Then, by stacking them together, you get a detailed 3D map of your organs, blood vessels, soft tissue, spine, and brain.
Your body is mostly water, which contains hydrogen atoms.
An MRI sends signals to those atoms and tracks how they respond. Different tissues respond in different ways.
Those responses are turned into images of the inside of your body, kind of like an elevation map showing changes along the road.
That’s how radiologists can tell the difference between healthy tissue and things like inflammation, tumors, or structural problems.
Yes! Dragonfly scans are completely safe, even for repeated use.
Unlike X-rays or CT scans, MRIs don’t use radiation: just magnetism and radio waves.
No. Dragonfly scans do not have any ionizing radiation found in other imaging methods such as X-rays, CT, or PET scans. Also, we do not use intravascular contrast dyes. As long as you don’t have any metallic implants that are incompatible with MRI scanning (e.g. pacemaker or orthopedic implants) the process is utterly safe. Because of the magnetic field, we do require all jewelry, watches or metallic accessories to be removed before scanning.
Dragonfly scans are elective, preventive screenings that you can schedule directly without waiting for a doctor to order the test.
We ask that you limit beverages to either water, tea, or black coffee. As a reminder, the longest scan can be over an hour so we suggest using facilities prior to your visit.
Fasting for four hours before your scan helps reduce motion in the stomach and intestines, which leads to clearer images.
Your privacy is sacred. We will never sell your patient data. We will not share your information with anyone unless specifically authorized by you. We strictly abide by and comply with all medical legislation which regulates patient confidentiality, medical data, and personal information.
You are constantly monitored by an MRI technician during the scan and have the ability to communicate with the MRI technician throughout your entire process.
Absolutely. Giving a Dragonfly scan allows you to share the gift of health.
Yes, we accept FSA/HSA as payment. You may either use your credit card or seek reimbursement through your specific carrier.
No, we do not require a referral, but we can help arrange a consultation with a medical practitioner in the event there is an abnormal finding.
Yes, the scan process is designed with your comfort in mind. You’ll have the option to listen to music or watch a movie, and we provide a blanket along with an aromatherapy patch to help you relax. During your pre-scan consultation, we’ll also review medication options if you feel you may need additional support.
You will receive your report within 7 business days. We do our best to release results earlier, but in rare instances, it could take slightly longer.
The accuracy of the scan requires imaging the same tissue in multiple ways, while in the same position. Unless it is a true emergency, we ask that you monitor your fluid intake to ensure you can last the entire session.
Unfortunately, not at this time. However, some members have received partial reimbursement through extended providers. We suggest checking with your insurance to confirm the possibility.
Most patients benefit from a Dragonfly scan once a year, which allows us to track changes in your health over time. In certain situations—such as family history, existing conditions, or findings that require closer monitoring—we may recommend scans every six months. The first scan is especially important, as it creates your personal baseline that all future results can be compared against.
Yes, we do offer a referral program. When you share Dragonfly with someone you care about, it’s more than a recommendation, it’s an act of love that encourages them to take a proactive step in protecting their health. As our way of saying thank you, both you and your referral will receive a special credit toward your scans.
