Before You Book

Questions people ask before getting started.

Choosing your scan

What are the three main scan options?
The Torso Scan is the most focused option: chest, abdomen, and pelvis. It is often a good starting point for a faster, more affordable internal health check (no brain or spine imaging). The Head & Torso Scan adds brain imaging to the core organ scan. The Comprehensive Whole Body Scan is the most complete of the three: brain, spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis, dedicated lung imaging, liver analysis, body composition, and a broad radiology review. We can explain the general differences, but we can’t tell you which scan is medically right for a symptom or condition. We are happy to help you book or connect with the team.
What does a scan cost?
It depends on which scan you choose: Torso ($999) covers chest, abdomen, and pelvis; Head + Torso ($1,799) adds brain and neck imaging; Comprehensive Full-Body ($2499) covers brain, full spine, chest, abdomen, and pelvis, plus lung screening, vascular review, organ health analysis, and body composition. Our team can walk you through current pricing and any active offers. Want us to help you get started?
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
No. Dragonfly scans are elective preventive screenings, and you can schedule directly without waiting for a doctor to order the scan. Speak to a Dragonfly specialist for more information

Preparing for your visit

Does Dragonfly use radiation or contrast dyes?
No. Dragonfly scans do not use ionizing radiation or intravascular contrast dyes. MRI uses magnetic fields and radio waves. Because of the magnetic field, all jewelry, watches, and metallic accessories need to be removed before scanning, and people with certain implants or devices need to be reviewed by our team before booking. Speak to a Dragonfly specialist for more information
Is the scan process comfortable?
Yes, the scan process is designed with your comfort in mind. You’ll have the option to listen to music or watch a movie, and we provide a blanket along with an aromatherapy patch to help you relax. During your pre-scan consultation, we’ll also review medication options if you feel you may need additional support.
Do I need to fast? What can I drink that day?
Yes. Dragonfly asks patients to fast for four hours before the scan, which helps reduce motion in the stomach and intestines for clearer images. On scan day, please limit beverages to water, tea, or black coffee, and since the longest scans can take over an hour, it’s a good idea to use the restroom before your visit.

Results and payment

How long does it take to get my results?
You will receive your report within 7 business days. We do our best to release results earlier, but in rare instances, it could take slightly longer.
Can I use FSA, HSA, or CareCredit?
Yes. Dragonfly accepts FSA, HSA, and CareCredit payments. Some plans may require you to seek reimbursement through your specific carrier, so it’s best to check with your plan. The team can help you use these options when booking. Speak to a Dragonfly specialist for more information
How secure is my personal data?
Your privacy is sacred. We will never sell your patient data. We will not share your information with anyone unless specifically authorized by you. We strictly abide by and comply with all medical legislation which regulates patient confidentiality, medical data, and personal information.
