Cardiac Evaluation in Dragonfly Whole-Body MRI
A Window Into Your Heart Health
At Dragonfly, our Whole-Body MRI includes a cardiac-focused evaluation designed to provide valuable insights into your heart and surrounding structures—safely and non-invasively. This evaluation supports early awareness of structural and vascular findings, often before symptoms develop.
What We Evaluate
1. Cardiac Structure
We assess the overall anatomy of the heart, including:
* Heart size and chamber configuration
* Cardiac contours
* Position of the heart within the chest
This helps identify structural abnormalities that may otherwise go unnoticed.
2. Thoracic Aorta & Great Vessels
We evaluate major vessels associated with the heart, including:
* Ascending and descending thoracic aorta
* Aortic caliber and morphology
* Screening for aneurysm or dilation
3. Pericardium and Surrounding Structures
We evaluate major vessels associated with the heart, including:
* Pericardial effusion (fluid around the heart)
* Pericardial thickening or irregularity
* Adjacent mediastinal structures
3. Incidental Cardiovascular-Related Findings
Whole-body MRI may also reveal additional findings relevant to cardiovascular health:
* Lung and mediastinal observations
* Indirect markers such as visceral fat distribution (from body composition analysis)
Why This Matters
Many cardiovascular conditions develop silently. This evaluation is designed to:
* Provide early visibility into structural heart and vascular health
* Identify incidental but clinically meaningful findings
* Support proactive follow-up when appropriate
Important Considerations
* This is a structural, screening-level cardiac assessment
* It does not evaluate cardiac motion, function, or blood flow dynamics
* It is not a substitute for:Dedicated cardiac MRI,
Echocardiography, or CT coronary calcium scoring or CT angiography
* Coronary arteries are not directly evaluated in standard whole-body MRI
* This service is designed for asymptomatic individuals and not intended to evaluate known or suspected cardiac disease
The Dragonfly Advantage
* No radiation exposure
* Non-invasive and contrast-free (in most cases)
* Whole-body context—not just isolated cardiac imaging
* Expert radiologist interpretation
Your health matters. Let’s start treating it that way.
